The Buoy and the Breeze: Learning how to navigate through the troubled waters and the green pastures of life
By Amber Whitney Mitchell
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” ~ John 16:33 (NIV)
Trials and tribulations will enter into our life and there is nothing we can do to stop them. How we handle these difficult seasons is a true test of our character and will reveal what we put our hope and confidence in.
I’ve had my share of challenges. In particular, the years 2012-2017 that began with many questions, poor judgment, wrong reactions, and ill intentions but later resulted in perseverance, strengthened faith, and unwavering trust. It wasn’t easy and the storms were heavily weathered, but choosing to seek the Anchor made all of the difference in my life.
Whether you’re currently stuck in the pit, wandering in the wilderness, or resting quietly in the green pasture, God has a purpose for your life and wants to travel with you on the journey.
This theme is beautifully portrayed in my latest book review of The Buoy and the Breeze: Learning how to navigate through the troubled waters and the green pastures of life by Amber Whitney Mitchell.
It is an easy read, less than 50 pages total, but is a book all individuals can relate to. In it, the author will remind you that through Christ you are stronger than you think and more equipped than you know to tackle whatever circumstance comes your way. She uses biblical examples as proof that we need our Creator’s guidance and wisdom to navigate both the rough waters that come our way and the gentle streams we coast through.
Just like Jesus said, we will face challenges in this life but we are not alone. Be encouraged by that truth and inspired by the words in this book. Check it out!
